Last week, Gov. Ron DeSantis marked a month of service in Tallahassee and looked at the first accomplishments of his administration.

“Being governor is a better job than I could have ever imagined,” said DeSantis. “While we have accomplished a lot in these first 30 days, I would like the people of Florida to know there is no intention of slowing down as I will continue to fight for the issues that are important to our great state.”

DeSantis released a video on Wednesday showcasing his first efforts in Tallahassee.

The governor’s office reviewed his record on hurricane recovery, the environment, his three appointments to the state Supreme Court, his call to end Common Core in Florida, backing Israel, supporting medical marijuana and his first proposed budget.

“Governor DeSantis has accomplished much in his first 30 days in office,” his office insisted. “Stay tuned.”

Elected with the strong support of President Donald Trump, DeSantis continues to defend his ally now that he is in Tallahassee instead of on Capitol Hill. Last week, DeSantis had kind words for Trump’s State of the Union address.

“A strong America is a united America,” DeSantis said after the speech on Tuesday night. “President Trump’s call for bipartisanship is not only the key to forging meaningful policies and legislation, it is also a call to our higher sense of patriotism. I support and applaud the president’s efforts to work with all sides in finding new solutions to our nation’s challenges in a spirit of compromise and cooperation. That is true leadership.”
