Incoming Gov. Ron DeSantis announced on Thursday that he was turning to the two prominent legislators to help his new administration. 
On Thursday, incoming Gov. Ron DeSantis and incoming Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez announced the names of more than 40 advisors who will serve on the committee.

The agreement, which was signed on Monday, will take effect in the spring.

Strum starts his new task on January 8 as DeSantis gets ready to take over from Scott who faces term limits.  
Republicans have controlled the Legislature in Tallahassee and the Governor’s Mansion for two decades but the state Senate has often, especially in recent years, proven to be a challenge for conservatives on everything from budgetary matters to Second Amendment issues. 
This week,  at the Association of Florida Colleges conference in Orlando, Florida College System (FCS) Chancellor Madeline Pumariega honored four schools in the Sunshine State with the Chancellor’s Best Practice Awards.
