This week, Mast went to bat for Rob Jones, a Republican hoping to challenge freshman U.S. Rep. Jennifer Wexton, D-Va. Jones, like Mast, lost limbs when he served in Afghanistan. While Jones served in the Marines, Mast was in the Army.
Morning Consult released its quarterly look at where all 100 members of the Senate stand with voters in their home states and both U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., get good marks from Floridians.
“Offensive terms appearing in other DoD documents include skin color descriptions such as ‘Yellow’ for Asian Americans and ‘Red’ for Native Americans. This is quite simply unacceptable, and my legislation will see that it is fixed,” Hastings added.
With next year marking the 100th anniversary of the Nineteenth Amendment, earlier this year, the Legislature voted to create a  19-member Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission. State Sen. Lauren Book’s, D-Plantation, proposal was signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
First elected to Congress in 2016 when she defeated longtime U.S. Rep. John Mica, R-Fla., Murphy has grown increasingly prominent during her second term in Congress, including being named to the leadership of the Blue Dog Coalition and claiming a seat on the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee.
The Senate voted to confirm Wetherell on a 82-16 vote on Tuesday with all of the opposition coming from the ranks of the Democrats. Florida’s two Republican U.S. senators--Marco Rubio and Rick Scott--voted to confirm him.
Other candidates could be dropping out of the race soon.
“Most people think the internet is in the cloud. It’s really under the ocean,” Waltz said. “There are almost 400 of these cables [which] are about the size of a really large garden hose that run several hundred thousand miles and our entire modern economy is dependent on these fiber optic cables, from banking, to insurance, to financial markets.”
Orange County will be the largest recipient of the funds, getting almost $525,000 while Volusia County is getting more than $317,000 while Miami Dade is getting almost $211,000. A dozen counties, including Palm Beach and Seminole Counties, did not apply for the grants.
The NRLC also showcased Trump’s promise "to veto any legislation that weakens current pro-life federal policies and laws, or that encourages the destruction of innocent human life at any state."
