With groundbreaking for the new VA facility scheduled for October, the three Florida Republicans proposed naming it “Leo C. Chase, Jr. Department of Veterans Affairs Clinic.’’
“The America First Drug Pricing Plan takes real steps to lower costs for patients and puts the consumer back in charge of their healthcare decisions,” Scott insisted. “Washington seems to have given up on reforming health care – I don’t accept that.
“Servicemembers and their families deserve the best possible health care, and it’s up to Congress to make that happen,” said Moulton who is part of the crowded field running for the Democratic presidential nomination.
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, 130 people die each day from opioid overdoses. From 1999 to 2017, drug overdose deaths involving opioids jumped from 8,048 to 47,600.
“Currently, veterans receiving health care at the VA are not allowed to discuss marijuana with their health care providers and can be denied their VA benefits if it is discovered that they use marijuana," Gaetz said.
More than 120 Republican members of Congress signed the letter including U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., John Rutherford, R-Fla., Greg Steube, R-Fla., and Ted Yoho, R-Fla.
“Our bill is the America First Drug Pricing Plan. It is a real, common-sense solution to help the American people afford the live-saving drugs they need. It’s time for action,” Scott said.
A recent Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll indicates the strong economy may help Trump win swing votes in states like Florida.
As part of the budget the Legislature passed on Saturday and which is now before Gov. Ron DeSantis, the Florida Healthy Kids Corporation received around $2 million “to lower costs for health insurance for families under the ‘full-pay’ Healthy Kids program.
“Current law prevents servicemembers and their families from seeking justice when hurt or killed due to medical malpractice,” said Crist on Wednesday.
