The money would be issued as matching funds for three types of projects.
On the whole, Scott did what he said would do and helped Florida’s economy bounce back after the Great Recession. This is one of the reasons why Scott is one of only a handful of Florida governors who moved on the Senate--something that plenty of governors failed to do over the past 173 years.
The governor’s office also noted that Arcadia is getting more than $300,000 from the Rural Infrastructure Grant Fund for waterline improvements and to improve Arcadia Municipal Airport which will help fund 27 jobs which include 15 new full time positions.
“The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund, established by Governor Scott and the Florida Legislature in 2017, provides $85 million for improving public infrastructure and enhancing workforce training in Florida,” Scott’s office noted on Friday.
Finishing up his first term in Congress, U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Fla., announced the funds would be headed to the PSTA on Wednesday.
