Gun control PAC Giffords, led by former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Az., and astronaut Captain Mark Kelly, continues to back Democrats running for Congress in the Sunshine State, throwing its support behind three more candidates on Wednesday.

The PAC backed Chris Hunter’s challenge of U.S. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, R-Fla. The PAC also endorsed former Amb. Nancy Soderberg who is running for the seat former U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., resigned to run for governor and former U.S. HHS Sec. Donna Shalala who is running for the seat held by retiring U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.

Giffords herself weighed in on the endorsements.

“This year, voters are demanding leaders who offer more than thoughts and prayers when it comes to gun violence. They’re no longer willing to accept politicians who can’t imagine a world where schools, workplaces, churches, and communities are safe places, where our children don’t have to live in fear. The level of gun violence we experience in our country is not normal and thankfully, we finally have leaders running for office who have the courage to fight to finally address it,” said Giffords on Wednesday.

“Voters are ready to elect Chris Hunter, Donna Shalala, and Nancy Soderberg because they will always put protecting their communities over helping the gun lobby make a profit. Giffords is proud to endorse them for Congress because they will never stop fighting for what’s right,” she added.

Earlier this month, the PAC backed Florida Democrat U.S. Reps. Val Demings, Ted Deutch, Stephanie Murphy and Debbie Wasserman Schultz as they run for reelection.
