Matt Gaetz Showcases Proposal to Deport Illegal Aliens During Pandemics

One of President Donald Trump’s closest allies on Capitol Hill is championing a proposal to deport illegal aliens during a national emergency tied to communicable diseases.

U.S. Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., is behind the “Protect American Nationals During Emergencies by Mitigating the Immigration Crisis (PANDEMIC) Act.” The bill “mandates the deportation of all illegal aliens held in the United States when a national emergency related to a communicable disease is declared.”

Gatez talked about the proposal when he appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show on Fox News last week and the congressman insists the bill is to counter the proposal from U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, D-NJ, and U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash., to release illegals when a “national emergency is declared related to a communicable disease.”

The Panhandle Republican weighed in on his proposal this week.

“Democrats are taking advantage of a national pandemic by working to advance their radical agenda at the expense of Americans’ safety and well-being. It is unconscionable that at a time when we should be working together as Americans, Democrats are working to socially engineer our country and advance their legislative priorities. The PANDEMIC Act puts Americans first by requiring that all illegal aliens be deported during a pandemic, ensuring our resources are used to benefit and protect American citizens,” said Gaetz when he showcased the bill on Friday.
