Looking ahead to the 2020 elections, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) is looking to pin down Democrats in the Florida delegation on whether or not they want to impeach President Donald Trump.

Noting that U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is playing down talk of impeachment, the NRCC launched a digital ad on Friday targeting Florida Democrat U.S. Reps. Charlie CristStephanie MurphyDebbie Mucarsel-Powell and Donna Shalala on Friday, trying to smoke them out on the matter.

“The socialist Democrats in Congress need to definitively state if they will stand up to the baseless attempts to impeach our president or if they will once again roll over for the extremists running their caucus,” said U.S. Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn. “Instead of trying to overturn a legitimate and lawful election, these childish socialists should buckle their chinstraps and figure out how they will sell their socialist agenda in the American heartland.”

The NRCC is running the ad in 55 districts it is targeting in 2020. Most of the targeted districts–31–went for Republican Donald Trump in 2016 but it could be an uphill climb in 2020.

In Florida, the NRCC included Crist and Murphy–who both won by double-digit margins in 2018–on their list of targets. Mucarsel-Powell and Shalala, who flipped seats that had been held by Republicans in districts that are trending blue and against Trump, are more promising targets.
