U.S. Rep. Val Demings, D-Fla., brought out the “Law Enforcement Protection Act” which would expand background checks on “armor-piercing, concealable weapons.”
The funds come from the $1.9 trillion stimulus package that Congress approved and that President Joe Biden signed into law last month.
Appearing on Fox News on Wednesday, U.S. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif., said he would remove Gaetz from his committee assignments--including the U.S. House Judiciary Committee-if the allegations are true.

The caucus has more than two dozen members and is lead by U.S. Reps. Jared Golden, D-Maine, and Van Taylor, R-Texas.
