Crist introduced the proposal on Wednesday with the support of U.S. Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver, D-Mo, and U.S. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-SC. The Florida congressman praised Goodman for his actions last week when a violent mob of supporters of outgoing President Donald Trump attacked the Capitol, leaving five people, including a Capitol police officer, dead.
