On Wednesday, Florida TaxWatch released “Calling All Cars? Florida’s Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS-2) Underscores the Need for Procurement Reform,” an analysis of efforts made to replace the aging Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) equipment and ensure law enforcement, firefighters, and other first responders can communicate quickly and effectively.
Ferrin, who has worked in Florida politics and government for more than a decade, most recently served as the interim secretary and chief of staff for the Florida Lottery.
“This report is the culmination of a dedicated group effort to closely examine the coronavirus pandemic’s effect on businesses and industries in our state, thoughtfully discuss the difficulties they have experienced, and carefully craft sensible solutions to the issues impacting Florida’s employers,” said Dr. Ed Moore, the executive director of the RESET Task Force.
