Wilbur Ross: Commerce Department Sending $10.2 Million to Innovation Park in Tallahassee
Announcing the funds at an event on Thursday afternoon, Ross reviewed Leon County’s efforts in developing technology, praising the area as a “nucleus for innovation.” Ross said the project--which includes $6.8 million in local investments--will create 639 new jobs in a “high growth industry" over the next ten years. The facility itself will be finished by 2023.
Charlie Crist: Commerce Department Sending Grant to Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council
Crist said the $210,000 will come from the Economic Development Administration. The news funds “will double the amount being invested by Tampa Bay counties, establishing an economic development strategy for the future that supports capital investment and job creation in the region.”

U.S. Commerce Sec. Wilbur Ross announced the Economic Development Administration (EDA) is sending a $12.25 million grant for “critical infrastructure improvements needed to establish a maintenance training facility at Pensacola International Airport.”
