The awards were given to the Northeast Florida Firewatch Council and the Bay County Board of County Commissioners.
According to the speaker’s office, the FDSTF “preserves, protects, and enhances Florida’s military missions and installations” and “works with Florida’s Base Commanders, helps improve transportation access to Florida’s military installations, and works to strengthen state support for military families and veterans, and more.”

The award recipients include the Florida Department of Military Affairs, the Bay County Board of County Commissioners and the city of Jacksonville. This grant award, combined with the previous award this fiscal year, results in a $1,447,400 commitment by the FDSTF to Florida’s defense communities.
On Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis released the “2020 Florida Military and Defense Economic Impact Study" which was commissioned by Enterprise Florida, Inc. (EFI) and the Florida Defense Support Task Force (FDSTF).
