The program, administered by DEO, allows local governments to develop large-scale infrastructure projects to make communities more resilient to future disasters.
With this week seeing the start of the regular session of the Florida Legislature and being Consumer Protection Week, state Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jimmy Patronis showcased his consumer protection agenda, which includes protecting Floridians from unnecessary fees, working to eliminate fraud and scams, and ensuring Florida’s insurance markets aren’t flooded with unnecessary litigation.
The funds have been awarded through the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity’s (DEO) Rebuild Florida Infrastructure Repair Program.
The Florida Keys Electric Cooperative will be getting the bulk of the funds--$11,105,629.07--coming from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
