Florida Republican U.S. Reps. Kat Cammack, Scott Franklin, Greg Stuebe and Michael Waltz backed the proposed sanctions unveiled by former U.S. Sec. of State Mike Pompeo and U.S. Rep. Jim Banks, R-Ind., the chairman of the Republican Study Committee.
Steube introduced the “Sanctioning Iranian-Backed Militia Terrorists Act” which will impose sanctions on the Iranian-backed Kata’ib Sayyid al-Shuhada (KSS) in Iraq.
“The Republican Study Committee (RSC) has served as the conservative caucus of House Republicans and a leading influencer on the Right since its original founding in 1973. It exists to bring like-minded House members together to promote a strong, principled legislative agenda that will limit government, strengthen our national defense, boost America’s economy, preserve traditional values and balance our budget,” Cammack’s office noted.
This week, U.S. Rep. Greg Steube, R-Fla., unveiled a proposal to “hold China financially responsible for the detrimental economic impact of COVID-19 on the American economy.”
The letter was signed by more than 30 Republican members of Congress including U.S. Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott and U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz, Bill Posey, Greg Steube, Michael Waltz and Ted Yoho from the Florida delegation.
This week, Waltz joined Banks, U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wy., and U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-NY, in pushing the proposal. Waltz served as an aide to Cheney’s father former Vice President Dick Cheney focused on counterterrorism.
West weighed in on the Democrats continuing to move to the left, including slamming presidential hopefuls U.S. Sen. Bernie Sanders and former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke.
Banks, a veteran who served in Afghanistan, came out swinging at the Democrats this week as he took over the PAC.
