Rubio has pushed for the adoption of open and adaptable solutions in the United States as an alternative to Chinese equipment providers Huawei and ZTE, malign state-directed telecommunications companies that pose a clear and growing threat to the economic and national security of the U.S. and our allies.

Rubio and Scott are backing Portman’s “Safeguarding American Innovation Act” which is being backed by more than a dozen senators including U.S. Sen. Tom Carper, D-Del., Maggie Hassan, D-NH, Thom Tillis, R-NC and Josh Hawley, R-Mo. 

The Navy’s FY 2021 budget request does not include funding for a tenth Block V submarine which “directly contradicts the National Defense Strategy and inexplicably delays the Navy’s goal of reaching 66 fast-attack submarines by 2048.”

On Monday, the senators joined members of the House of Representatives at an official ceremony at the Mardasson Memorial near Bastogne, Belgium to mark the occasion. Scott also joined his colleagues in introducing a resolution honoring the 75th Anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, which passed the Senate last week.

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., the chairman of the U.S. Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, has thrown his support behind U.S. Sen. James Lankford’s, R-Okla., proposal to eliminate fines for small businesses for first-time paperwork violations with some exceptions.

“The last thing that Michigan families who were exposed to PFAS-contaminated water and soil need is finger pointing from our federal agencies,” Stabenow said.

“As our nation’s veterans transition back to civilian life, we must ensure the VA adapts to the 21st century needs of our service men and women as they pursue civilian employment opportunities,” said Rubio.
