Darren Soto Helps Get the ‘Strengthening America’s Strategic National Stockpile Act’ Through the House
Soto was an original cosponsor of U.S. Rep. Elissa Slotkin’s, D-Mich., “Strengthening America’s Strategic National Stockpile Act” to help “begin reducing America’s dependence on foreign sources of critical medical supplies the country needs to fight COVID-19, boost domestic manufacturing to make those supplies here in America, and make much-needed improvements and updates to America’s Strategic National Stockpile (SNS).”
At the end of last week, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., wrote U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Acting Administrator John Barsa following reports that U.S. government agencies have been shipping medical supplies to other nations.
On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla.. sent a letter to Peter Navarro, the assistant to the president, requesting that the United States bring healthcare products and pharmaceutical manufacturing back to our country as soon as possible.
