Wilson hosted a conference call with several representatives from the agency, Miami International Airport, and local government officials on the matter last week. The FAA extended the comment period through July 24.

This week, U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson, D-Fla., who sits on the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, announced that airports in South Florida will get more than $342 million in federal funds from the stimulus package that the White House and Congress agreed to at the end of last month.

In the letter, the members wrote that “CIMC-Tianda has already been found guilty of industrial espionage by a U.S. Federal District court in Houston, TX. The decision ruled that CIMC-Tianda misled a company into a transfer of its business and design information as it relates to passenger boarding bridges.

Diaz-Balart announced the federal funds coming to South Florida at the end of last week.
