Florida Delegation Applauds Joe Biden Nominating Bill Nelson to Lead NASA
The White House noted Nelson “served in public office over four decades, first in the state Legislature and U. S. Congress, then as state treasurer” before his three terms in the U.S. Senate. Nelson was first elected in 2000 when he defeated then U.S. Rep. Bill McCollum, R-Fla. After three terms, Nelson lost a close race to then Gov. Rick Scott in 2018.

Ben Cardin, D-Mary., the top Democrat on the committee, sent a letter to Russell Vought, the acting director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) regarding the implementation of Section 889(a)(1)(B) of the John S. McCain National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2019 (FY2019 NDAA).
