“Tropical Storm Elsa is headed toward Florida, bringing life-threatening storm surge along our Gulf Coast, strong winds and very heavy rainfall. Communities in the Tampa Bay, Central Florida and Big Bend regions will face the most serious and dangerous weather, including the threat of tornadoes. Rick Scott Urges Floridians to Prepare for Hurricane Season

Last month, Scott and his colleagues in the U.S. Senate, including U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., sent a letter to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to ensure the agency is prepared for a potential workforce shortage ahead of the 2021 hurricane season. Scott and Rubio with other U.S. senators from the region sent the letter to FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell.
