Last week, U.S. Rep. Francis Rooney, R-Fla., continued his efforts to ensure government employees can’t perform union tasks while on taxpayers’ dime.
“There is nothing more American than rewarding hard work,” Rubio said. “Union bosses should not be able to arbitrarily block a performance-based raise earned by a hard-working employee.
“The forum’s goal is to identify economic and other effects of union membership decline and legislative measures to strengthen the National Labor Relations Act,” Wilson’s office noted.
“I am excited to be appointed to two subcommittees that will allow me to better serve and strengthen children’s education, labor rights and pensions, and the health of employees in the private-sector,” Shalala said on Tuesday.
Rooney, who is the vice chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee despite being a freshman, pointed to the recent Janus decision by the U.S. Supreme Court and said it was time to change how unions take dues.
