Marco Rubio Wants SBA to Provide Small Businesses Flexibility Over Eligibility for COVID-19 Relief...
On Monday, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., sent a letter to Isabelle Guzman, the administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), urging the SBA to provide flexibility to small businesses with multiple locations when assessing their eligibility for COVID-19 relief programs administered by the SBA.
This week, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., sent a letter to Small Business Administration (SBA) Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman asking for her plan to prevent waste and abuse in the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) while ensuring small businesses hurt by the coronavirus pandemic are getting the help they need.
CEL also ranked Rubio as the top-performing Republican in the areas of Civil Rights, International Affairs, and Trade.
Rubio reeled in a dozen Republican co-sponsors for the bill which would also “prohibit the Small Business Administration (SBA) from setting priorities for processing the applications of some entities over others except for priorities reasonably necessary to carry out the set-asides created by Congress in the December 2020 COVID-19 relief bill.”
During the discussion, Steube announced that the 17th Congressional District has received 17,814 awards totaling $122 million in pandemic response funding and 10,849 awards in Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) funding that total about $700 million.
