Having passed a $2.2 trillion stimulus package to help the economy weather the coronavirus crisis last week, the White House and Congress are now abuzz about a potential $2 trillion infrastructure stimulus proposal.

Buchanan’s bill allows small businesses to work together in “multiple employer plans” (MEPs) which he insists will lower costs and make more businesses offer retirement benefits.

Wilson led a hearing entitled  “The Cost of Inaction: Why Congress Must Address the Multiemployer Pension Crisis” which showed “what’s at stake if 100-plus multiemployer pension plans are allowed to fail and the adverse effect that will have on more than one million retirees, hundreds of thousands of workers enrolled in the plans, and businesses in states across the nation.”
