On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., the chairman of the U.S. Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee, convened a hearing titled, “Perspectives from Main Street: COVID-19’s Impact on Small Business.”
The U.S. Census is conducted every 10 years to count every person living in U.S. states and territories. Participation is required by law. In the past, scammers have used the mandatory count to take advantage of unwitting Floridians and steal personal information.
With the federal census coming up in March and running through June, on Monday, DeSantis tapped Lt. Gov. Jeanette Nuñez to lead Florida’s 2020 Census Statewide Complete Count Committee which “will coordinate with the U.S. Census Bureau to ensure Floridians are accurately reflected in the federal count.”
“The United States Constitution mandates a national census count be conducted every 10 years and Florida will do its part to support the federal government’s efforts,” said DeSantis.
