From his seat on the U.S. House Transportation, and Housing and Urban Development (THUD) Appropriations Subcommittee, U.S. Rep. John Rutherford, R-Fla., announced that the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) is getting $20 million for port infrastructure improvements which could create up to 15,000 new jobs.
“Northeast Florida, with its intricate network of railways, highways, and ports, remains a hotbed for federal investment and economic growth,” said Rutherford. “Following other major awards to the region, this grant will ease congestion downtown and clear rail obstructions near major hospitals.
“I am humbled and grateful to be the recipient of the 2019 Roadway Safety Champion Award,” Diaz-Balart said.
