As a result of the global pandemic, all passport agencies closed for a time to implement safety precautions for their staff. Lawson said his office has received an influx of calls and emails from constituents who are distressed that passport delays are disrupting their travel plans.

Marco Rubio Urges Polish President to Oppose Bill Preventing Holocaust Reimbursement Claims

The Polish bill would make it impossible for survivors of the Holocaust and their families from pursuing claims for restitution or compensation for property stolen by Nazi Germany or the Communist-era government. The senators urged the Polish President to “demonstrate its clear opposition to the crimes committed by Nazi Germany and the Soviet-backed Polish government.” 

Marco Rubio Calls on State Department to Protect Religious Freedom in Algeria

Rubio joined U.S. Sens. Tim Kaine, D-Va., Thom Tillis, R-NC, Cory Booker, D-NJ, and Ben Cardin, D-Mary., in sending a letter to U.S. Sec. of State Antony Blinken requesting that the U.S. Department of State take action against coordinated and discriminatory treatment toward members of religious minority groups in Algeria, including Protestant Christians and the Ahmadiyya Muslim community.
