Towards the end of last week, freshman U.S. Rep. Ross Spano, already expected to be a top target for Democrats come 2020, announced his committee assignments.
With backing on both sides of the aisle, freshman U.S. Rep. Al Lawson, D-Fla., was able to get his proposal giving small businesses more chances to get federal contracts passed the U.S. House.
After the bills cleared the House last week, Lawson made the case as to why these proposals were important.
