On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., sent a letter to leaders of NBA teams, Fortune 500 companies, the United Nations, and media urging them to use their respective roles to put human rights over profits, and stand with the Uyghurs and Hong Kongers living under the oppression of Communist China and General Secretary Xi Jinping.
For almost a year, Scott has been urging the IOC to reconsider its decision to host the 2022 Winter Olympics in Communist China as General Secretary Xi Jinping commits genocide against the Uyghurs in Xinjiang and restricts the human rights of Hong Kongers.
B-1, B-52, and B-2 bombers from U.S. bases in Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean, Darwin in Australia and Guam and Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean conduct coordinated strikes using “low observable cruise missiles” against China’s artificial islands in the South China Sea. They called on Trump to call fro China to ban live animal markets. Back in November, the two congressmen teamed up with U.S. Sen. Jeff Merkley, D-Oreg., to introduce a resolution “calling on all nations to end their dog and cat meat trade and to enforce existing laws against the trade.”

This week, U.S. Sens. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Jeanne Shaheen, D-NH, urged U.S. Defense Sec. Mark Esper to continue to maintain the readiness of U.S. forces under Indo-Pacific Command.
The letter was signed by more than 30 Republican members of Congress including U.S. Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott and U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz, Bill Posey, Greg Steube, Michael Waltz and Ted Yoho from the Florida delegation.
