President Donald Trump has made sure that Americans will enjoy a merry Christmas this year with his gift of jobs, jobs and more jobs.
The president worked hard to produce a record number of new jobs throughout the year, and thanks to his tireless efforts, millions of hard-working Americans are now hunting for the perfect Christmas gift instead of a job.
In fact, 2018 may have been one of the best years for job creation in American history. Unemployment currently stands at a 49-year low of 3.7 percent, about half what it was at the midpoint of Obama’s first term, and it’s all thanks to President Trump’s visionary policies.
Under President Trump’s leadership, job-creation has reached into every corner of American society — Black, Hispanic, and Asian unemployment rates have all reached all-time lows under President Trump, youth unemployment is at its lowest since 1969, and female unemployment hasn’t been this low since 1953. Irrespective of race, age, or gender, the Trump agenda benefits all Americans.
Wages, meanwhile, are rising at their fastest pace in nearly a decade as businesses compete with each other to fill new openings. Average hourly pay has increased by 3.1 percent over the past 12 months, the fastest rate of wage growth since the Great Recession.
With job creation, higher pay, and tax cuts putting more money in Americans’ pockets, the consumer confidence index hit an 18-year high in October, suggesting that holiday spending could go through the roof this year.
Indeed, Americans are expected to spend an average of $1,250 on gifts, travel, and entertainment this Christmas — a 5 percent increase compared to last year.
None of this would have been possible without Donald Trump in the White House. Despite the chaos and turbulence of Washington, he’s succeeded in implementing policies that have brought jobs to millions of Americans and helped boost the bank accounts of many millions more.
The results of the America First agenda are as real as the presents that will be under the tree Tuesday morning. With President Trump at the reins, Christmas is once again merry and bright for the American people.
