At an event in the Panhandle, DeSantis signed the “Federal Immigration Enforcement” from state Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota, and state Rep. Cord Byrd, R-Neptune Beach, which “prohibits state and local governments from having sanctuary policies in effect and requires such entities to support and cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.”
“It is wrong to threaten a borrower’s livelihood by rescinding a professional license from those who are struggling to repay student loans, and it deprives hardworking Americans of dignified work,” Rubio said.

The Senate confirmed Rodney Smith on a 78-18 vote to serve as a federal district court judge for the Southern District of Florida. The Senate also confirmed Tom Barber on a 77-19 vote to serve as a federal district court judge for the Middle District of Florida.
Spano applauded the bill for including almost $9.5 billion for mental health services, almost $222 million for suicide prevention outreach and almost $1.9 billon for the VA to help homeless veterans.
