A national poll conducted by Marist shows the concerns Americans have about China.

The Marist poll examined support among voting age Americans for government action to address the threats posed by the Chinese Communist Party.

80% of Americans support or strongly support legislation that requires American companies to remove Chinese telecommunications equipment.

79% of Americans support or strongly support legislation that blocks foreign companies (such as China) from bidding on state or local contracts for projects or supplies.

Nearly 80% of Americans are concerned or very concerned that supply chains would be significantly disrupted if there was an armed conflict between China and Taiwan.

73% of adults support or strongly support legislation that stops foreign countries (that the U.S. considers adversaries or national security threats) from supplying key parts of a state’s critical infrastructure.

With inflation and the cost of higher goods, 71% of Americans said they would pay between 5% and 25% more for goods that are manufactured in the U.S. or an allied nation rather than China and 56% of Americans would pay 10% or more for goods that are manufactured in the U.S. or an allied nation other than China.

More than a quarter of Americans would pay 25% or more for goods that are manufactured in the U.S. or an allied nation other than China.

Michael Lucci, founder and CEO of State Armor a group that researches and educates on says Americans are facing the reality that China is the number one adversary to the U.S.

America has awoken from a dream in recent years, and this new polling data shows that American opinion is catching up to a tough new reality. We have long operated under the assumption that if we welcomed China into the international community, their government would liberalize and return our kindness with their own, not so,” said Lucci.
