Neal Dunn Calls on State Department to Take Action Against Chinese Organ Harvesters

Last week, U.S. Reps. Neal Dunn, R-Fla., and Michelle Steel, R-Ca., both members of the U.S. House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition between the U.S. and the Chinese Communist Party, wrote U.S. Sec. of State Antony Blinken “expressing deep concern regarding the Chinese Communist Party’s forced organ harvesting of wrongfully detained minorities—including Falun Gong practitioners, Uyghurs, Tibetans, Muslims, and Christians.”

The two House Republicans wanted information on “visa applications from medical practitioners from China and information on what the State Department plans to do to prevent the CCP’s organ harvesting crimes against humanity.”

“The first-hand accounts I’ve heard from victims and survivors of the CCP’s inhumane actions are nothing short of horrific,” said Dunn. “Any Chinese healthcare professionals participating in organ harvesting are committing crimes against humanity. The Department of State must take action to ensure these criminals do not have access to immigration status in the United States.”

“I have met with several survivors of the CCP’s internment camps that torture and enslave minorities, including Uyghurs, and have heard firsthand about the horrors experienced at the hands of the CCP,” said Steel. “We must do whatever we can to prevent the organ harvesting industry. I look forward to hearing from Secretary Blinken about the steps he is taking to prevent these human rights atrocities from continuing.”

Back in January, Dunn announced he was named to the select committee which has been charged to “assess the myriad military, economic and technological challenges posed by Communist China” and is led by U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-Wisc.

“China is a foreign agitator and a serious threat to the United States and our allies. Overreliance on imported medical supplies from China compromises national security, the stability of our healthcare system, and the security of our nation overall,” said Dunn when he was named to the select committee. “Biden administration policies have only liberated and emboldened China. Speaker McCarthy is correct: the danger posed by our dependence on China is dire. I’m honored to be appointed to the China Select Committee in addition to my role on the House Energy and Commerce Committee. I look forward to working with my colleagues to hold the CCP accountable.”

Dunn had been a member of the Republican China Task Force which his office noted was “designed to probe the Chinese Communist Party’s (CCP) coverup of the origins of COVID-19, explain how to protect our supply chains, and ensure adequate resources for our military and diplomats.”

Representing parts of the Panhandle and the Big Bend, Dunn was first elected to Congress back in 2016.
