Ron DeSantis, Richard Corcoran: Florida Ranks Second in the Nation on Successful Advanced Placement...
Florida bettered the national average (24.4 percent) by nearly 10 percentage points, bypassed Massachusetts (34.0 percent) and is second only to Connecticut (34.5 percent). Additionally, Florida has eliminated the AP participation and performance gap for Hispanic students.
Florida Students Score Well at the National Level on the AP Exams
Corcoran noted that almost 56 percent of high school graduates in Florida took the AP exam and 31.7 percent of high school graduates earned a 3 score or higher on one of the exams. That was enough to move Florida from fourth place in 2017 to third last year and is above the national average of 23.5 percent.
