EPA Approves Florida’s Request to Administer the Clean Water Act Section 404 Program
Thursday’s action formally transfers permitting authority under CWA Section 404 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to the state of Florida for a broad range of water resources within the state. This action allows the state to more effectively and efficiently evaluate and issue permits under the CWA to support the health of Florida’s waters, residents, and economy.
Florida Congressional Representatives Help Get Water Resources Development Act to House Floor
This week, U.S. Rep. Peter DeFazio, D-Oreg., steered the proposal through the U.S. House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee that he chairs. “This legislation provides authority for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) to carry out water resources development projects and studies, as well as policy direction to the Corps for implementation of its civil works missions,” DeFazio’s office noted.
