Ron DeSantis, Casey DeSantis Announce Almost $3.5 Million for Gadsden County

The governor said more than $2.2 million from the Hurricane Michael State Recovery Grant Program will be sent to the county to repair two bridges. The bulk of those funds--almost $1.6 million-- will go to repair the Hutchinson Ferry Bridge that collapsed in September while $676,750 will be used to repair the Little River Bridge.

The Hurricane Michael State Recovery Grant Program supports Northwest Florida’s recovery by addressing issues like revenue loss and operating deficits, which are not covered by available federal funding. These grants can also be used for infrastructure repair or replacement, beach renourishment, recreational facilities and debris removal.

Ron DeSantis: FDEM Helps Mexico Beach Police, Fire Department as Hurricane Recovery Continues

On Thursday, Gov. Ron DeSantis announced that the Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) will send $1.1 million to Mexico Beach to help its fire department and law enforcement operations as the city continues to recover from Hurricane Michael which hit in October.
