Florida is the only state in the nation that has Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias listed as its own priority within a State Health Improvement Plan.

“The survey asks Floridians to review their decisions with respect to COVID-19 situations, to see how different actions affect their own health, and the health of others. The Florida Safe Survey allows individuals to have a tool at their disposal that fully engages them in the outcomes of their actions,” DOEA noted.

Members of the task force will work together to develop guidelines on how to safely allow family members to visit their loved ones in Florida’s long-term care facilities where visitation has been prohibited since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

DeSantis and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Sec. Alex Azar teamed up to annouce “HHS issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) and draft guidance for the plan” to import the drugs.

“I am proud of the team we have assembled to lead our agencies, which include some of the brightest minds and leaders our state and nation have to offer,” said DeSantis.

Prudom currently serves as the deputy secretary of the department.
