US&R Task Force 3 and 5 consists of nearly 100 highly trained fire service personnel. Personnel from each team will undergo COVID-19 testing before deployment.
“For nearly a week, Florida US&R Task Force 4 was stationed in Louisiana and provided life-saving resources to communities impacted by Hurricane Laura. These highly trained firefighters worked diligently to support the state of Louisiana’s emergency response efforts by navigating devastating floodwaters, clearing roads and providing medical assistance along the Gulf Coast and in some of the hardest-hit coastal areas. This is why it’s vital that we support our first responders as they work tirelessly to aid communities in their most critical time of need following a catastrophic natural disaster,” Patronis said.
Task Force 4 is a Type 3 US&R Team that consists of more than 40 highly trained fire service personnel from the Orange County, Orlando and Seminole County Fire Departments.
Currently, there are seven US&R teams that are status level "green," meaning they are prepared for deployment. Patronis’ Division of State Fire Marshal is the lead agency overseeing two Emergency Support Functions (ESF) at the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) during a disaster or state emergency.
