“At least half of the funding each institution receives will be issued directly to students in the form of emergency financial grants to help pay for course materials, housing, food, health care, childcare and other essentials,” Lawson’s office noted.
“Nearly 45 million Americans—including 2.6 million Floridians—have student loan debt, and the burden can be economically and emotionally crushing,” said Murphy. “I’m proud to co-lead this bipartisan bill with Congressman Kinzinger to give student loan borrowers another tool to alleviate this burden.”
Those funds have included more than $11.6 billion for public schools across the Sunshine State. Florida’s colleges and universities have received more than $8.4 billion.
UF online bachelor’s degree program placed fifth in the nation, tied with Penn State World Campus and the University of Illinois at Chicago. UCF placed 14th on the Best Online Bachelor’s Programs list. 
In just the third and fourth quarters of last year, there were around $166.4 billion in student loan delinquencies that have been in default for 90 days or more. 
Last year, Rubio wrote Miami Dade College, the University of North Florida (UNF), the University of South Florida (USF), the University of West Florida (UWF) and Cypress Bay High School on the matter, urging them to close their Confucius Institutes. So far, UNF, USF and UWF have severed ties with their Confucius Institutes.
