60-Foot-Deep Sinkhole Opens in front of Polk County Home

Polk County Fire Rescue responded to a sinkhole on Royal Crest Drive in Highland City. It is approximately 15 feet wide by 60 feet deep at the time of posting. As of Sunday afternoon, the sinkhole does not pose an imminent threat to the county roadway. PCFR will continue monitoring the situation over the coming days.
