Last week, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, D-NY, introduced the “Interagency Committee on Women’s Business Enterprise Act” with Salazar, U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-Penn., and U.S. Rep. Young Kim, R-Calif., as co-sponsors. The bill “would reauthorize the Interagency Committee on Women’s Business Enterprise (ICWBE), a U.S. government entity charged with coordinating federal resources to help women-owned businesses grow and succeed.”
The members ask that the administration swiftly implement the COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, develop an inter-agency strategy to combat antisemitism and protect American Jews and to expeditiously nominate an Ambassador at Large to lead the Office of the Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Anti-Semitism at the State Department.
“They are murderers, to the point that they kill children who are five or six years old. They are murderers, to the point they drag women on the ground to their death and they are murderers, to the point they kill old people,” Erdogan said. “ They only are satisfied by sucking their blood.”
Back in 2015, then U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, R-Fla., at that time the chairwoman of the U.S. House Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, and U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., then the ranking Democrat on the subcommittee, helped bring the group back.
“Congress has acted on multiple occasions to provide clarity on Holocaust restitution issues,” Deutch said last week. “History cannot be ignored or rewritten, and I hope the Acting Solicitor General will take into consideration longstanding congressional action and intent. We will continue to support efforts to ease the burden for the recovery of Holocaust-era property.”
U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., who leads the U.S. House Ethics Committee and the U.S. House Middle East and North Africa Subcommittee, is working with U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, D-NY, and U.S. Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-NY, on the resolution.
“Israel is America’s strongest ally and friend in the Middle East and it’s time that Israel is finally permitted to fully participate in our Global Entry program,” Meng said.
