On Tuesday, Donalds introduced the “Small Business Advanced Cybersecurity Enhancements Act" which “establishes a federal development center for data information sharing to equip small firms with the necessary resources and strategies to prevent criminal cyber-attacks" and which “also expands liability protections for participating small businesses that engage with the federal government in good faith.”
The South Florida congresswoman’s office noted that the recent collapse of a condo in Surfside helped lead to the proposal.
Last week, U.S. Rep. Grace Meng, D-NY, introduced the “Interagency Committee on Women’s Business Enterprise Act” with Salazar, U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan, D-Penn., and U.S. Rep. Young Kim, R-Calif., as co-sponsors. The bill “would reauthorize the Interagency Committee on Women’s Business Enterprise (ICWBE), a U.S. government entity charged with coordinating federal resources to help women-owned businesses grow and succeed.”
U.S. Rep. Sharice Davids, D-Kansas, is the main cosponsor. Other backers include U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, R-Fla., U.S. Rep. Annie Craig, D-Minn., and U.S. Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Penn.
Salazar announced her assignment this week and said she would use it to help her South Florida district.
On Tuesday, Donalds said he would use the new assignments to advocate for fiscal conservatism.
Spano introduced the “Keep Employee’s Earnings Protected (KEEP) Act” which would create a three month abatement period.
