The U.S. Senate approved President Donald Trump’s nominations of two members of the Florida Supreme Court as federal judges.
Hong Kong has been in the headlines in recent months due to high-profile protests which started over a proposed extradition policy that could lead activists in Hong Kong to be deported to mainland China.
On Tuesday, U.S. Rep. Ross Spano, R-Fla., paired up with a Democratic presidential candidate to bring out a bill to reform TRICARE for National Guard and Reserve personnel.
“Americans were hit with record-high 5.7 billion robocalls, or more than 17 per person, just in October alone. According to the new report by robocall-blocking app YouMail, this is a 25 percent increase from the previous month,” the congressman’s office noted.
The two senators have introduced the “We PAID Act” which would ensure that the prices of drugs developed using federally funded research are set at reasonable levels. The legislation has been endorsed by AARP.
This week U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balalrt, R-Fla., doubled down on his support of the “Farm Workforce Modernization Act” which reforms the current H-2A agricultural guestworker program and creates a merit-based visa program while mandating the use of E-Verify to check immigration status.
“Unfortunately, under the control of President Erdogan, Turkey has proven that it can no longer be trusted as a reliable ally of the United States,” said Bilirakis. “Deploying strategic assets to Turkey no longer makes sense.”
