Last week, eligible parents started to receive a monthly advance payment on the Child Tax Credit as part of the American Rescue Plan Act. An estimated 36 million families will continue to receive payments from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of up to $300 per child, per month.
As part of the $1.9 trillion that Congress and the White House agreed upon last month, the American Rescue Plan provides $500 million for Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) to keep schools operating safely, address summer school and keep educators on the job through the public health emergency.

“The federal government has provided guidance to all other passenger transportation modes and other industries; however, it has failed to issue guidance for the cruise industry to assist in its recovery,” the governor’s office noted.
Scott sent a letter to members of the Federal Open Market Committee asking them to address the risk that rising inflation poses to the economy, and to families and small businesses across the nation.

The Florida delegation on Capitol Hill continue to clash over the new $1.9 trillion federal stimulus bill signed into law earlier this month even as Gov. Ron DeSantis outlined his plan on how the state government should spend the funds it received from it.
“This commitment will serve the best interests of hard-working American taxpayers and will send a clear message to Washington: politicians in Congress should quit recklessly spending other people’s money,” Scott’s office noted.
