More than just affecting large technology firms, FTW noted that the proposal, which is being championed by state Sen. Jennifer Bradley, R-Orange Park, and state Rep. Cord Byrd, R-Neptune Beach, would affect companies across industries of varying size.
Gov. Ron DeSantis urged the Florida Legislature to pass a mandatory E-Verify requirement in the upcoming legislative session.
At an event in the Panhandle, DeSantis signed the “Federal Immigration Enforcement” from state Sen. Joe Gruters, R-Sarasota, and state Rep. Cord Byrd, R-Neptune Beach, which “prohibits state and local governments from having sanctuary policies in effect and requires such entities to support and cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.”
“Earlier this year, I asked the Florida Legislature to present me with a bill this session that upholds the rule of law and addresses sanctuary cities and counties in Florida,” DeSantis said.
With the Florida Legislature expected to pass a bill which would have local law enforcement go along with federal immigration authorities in cracking down on sanctuary cities, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is issuing warning to immigrants who want to travel and visit the Sunshine State.
The award is given to officials who show “a steadfast commitment to restore citizen government through term limits.”
